The redesign focused on making better use of every level of this home while creating a more functional flow throughout.

On the first floor, the entry was transformed into a functional mudroom. The original backyard access ran through the kitchen, interfering with the workflow and taking up valuable space. By eliminating the butler’s pantry, we created space for a powder room and a new backyard entrance that keeps circulation out of the kitchen. Relocating the basement access and moving it from the kitchen also opened up space for a comfortable breakfast nook.

On the third floor, an existing shower and its plumbing provided an opportunity to create a primary suite with minimal intervention. Removing the built-in closets maximized the bedroom, while eliminating the small office allowed us to expand the existing bathroom into a spacious primary bath with a double sink. The remaining office area became a laundry room, with the flexibility to convert it into a walk-in closet in the future.

The result is a more functional, adaptable home, with thoughtful solutions that make better use of the existing space.
