In this cute home, a family wanted to rethink their space as their children grow into teenagers- creating more privacy and adding a bathroom separated from the parents’. The existing layout also presented an opportunity to relocate the washer and dryer to the first floor (my personal favorite), making everyday routines much more convenient.
On the main floor, in the kitchen, creating a sitting area helped maximizing cabinet's storage and prep area. A few carefully placed walls and cabinets helped create a more private and discreet entrance to the first-floor powder room.
A direct exit to the backyard from the living room with a small sitting area was also added, instantly making the outdoor's feel more usable, and welcoming.
Working within a compact footprint meant every inch had to be intentional. The challenge was to balance minimalism with warmth- optimizing the layout to create a home that feels efficient, comfortable, and inviting for a family of four.
