In this beautiful home, a family of five needed significantly more storage and a more functional layout. The existing powder room opened directly into the kitchen, making it impractical for everyday use. The living room was small and awkwardly proportioned, with no clear focal point for a television, and the homeowners also wanted to add a primary bathroom.
Relocating the main entrance was a key move that reshaped the living room and created a comfortable gathering space. Removing a nonfunctional central fireplace (while preserving the vertical shaft) allowed us to widen the kitchen, form a long clean wall in the living room, and add substantial storage.
On the second floor, the new primary bedroom was planned so that, with minimal effort, it could include a walk-in closet and a full en-suite bathroom — completing a more functional and cohesive home for the family.
